“THIS IS NOT A DRILL”-The Musical
There was a concert reading of "This Is NOT A Drill” in Dallas,Texas on December 9th and 10th, 2021
Sammons Center for the Arts
Headed by musical director Paul Bogaev and director Gabriel Barre, the reading of “This is NOT A Drill” had only 3 evenings to rehearse the cast, to perform two incredibly moving performances of the staged reading. To see the show come to life to a full house was beyond thrilling. We had standing ovations both nights, with people laughing and crying, and saying the emotional music and story captivated them from beginning to end.
"This Is NOT A Drill” is a musical based on true events experienced by its conceptor, Holly Doubet. On January 13, 2018, an emergency cell phone alert informs everyone in Hawaii that an incoming nuclear missile is headed straight for the islands warning citizens and visitors; "BALLISTIC MISSILE THREAT INBOUND TO HAWAII. SEEK IMMEDIATE SHELTER. THIS IS NOT A DRILL.'' The people in Hawaii believe that the terrifying alert is accurate until a follow up message is sent out thirty-eight minutes later advising that the first alert was an unfortunate mistake.
